There is a tiny surf town where rock stars, supermodels and pro surfers come to play. This is a place where the sun shines a little brighter, friends laugh a little harder and life is a lot less serious. This brilliant place is called Santa Teresa and it’s just far enough out of the way to keep the crowds out but close enough to paradise that it’s worth going an extra mile for. We built a very special hilltop house here to entertain our friends and family. This is a very private place, just a kilometer up the hill from spectacular beaches, surf spots, bars and restaurants but guarded by a gatehouse and hidden by the dense rainforest that surrounds it. Of course we share this space with the resident monkeys, parrots, toucans and all of our other beloved forest friends. Sometimes if we’re lucky, we get to watch the whales swim by in the turquoise ocean below with our morning coffee. What a life! We are happy to offer this life in a private paradise to you for a well deserved vacation of your own. Travelling in a group, you will find that you really can afford this treat which is surprisingly cheaper than many local hotels. Go ahead and indulge, you deserve it. Take a few minutes and have a little stroll through this site and then please go ahead and drop us a line to find out how we can make this dream real for you and your family and dearest friends.
Have a look at the beautiful scenery in the area in this beautiful video shot from above.
Santa Teresa not only embodies the 'pura vida' spirit of Costa Rica but also contributes its own laid back vibe. With a beautiful landscape, warm and friendly locals and endless activities, you will find a true slice of heaven here.
The stars of this show are the ocean and the sun. Nature gifted us with the most beautiful playground and the best weather to enjoy it in.
Surfing, fishing, zip lining, spa sessions, Yoga, horseback tours and many more activities await. If you need any other information, please feel free to contact us directly.
A canopy tour is basically a steel cable that you zip down from a mountainside. Scooting down a mountain a few hundred feet off the ground can be a lot of fun if you're not afraid of heights like some of us.
Deep sea excursions as well as spear fishing can be arranged locally.
Adventuring a little further out, you'll find reef breaks and offshore gems for seasoned pros. Ask around very nicely and maybe some of the locals will take you out to some secret spots as well.
There are lots of great little resto-bars around with all kinds of international cuisine. You'll find many blends of Argentinean, French, Italian, Israeli and other multicultural cuisine on top of the local Tico fare. If burgers and pizzas turn you on, no worries - you'll find plenty to keep you happy. While there are a few bars around, we'd recommend sunset drinks and dinner at the Hotel Buenos Aires and night-time antics at the biggest club in town, the 'Day and Night'. Although Kate Moss hangs out there from time to time, don't worry about a velvet rope - it's on the beach so shoes and shirts are optional and you can bring your dog to the bar.
The best espresso in town can be found in the little pastry shop/cafe in the little strip mall in the heart of town. Luckily, there are no Starbucks here yet. As many places are seasonal, check with us when you come down and we'll hook you up.
Enjoy the beautiful warm weather sitting along side your friends next to a beach. Costa Rica has mainly two season, the High Season and the Green Season. Whichever season you decide to go, you will surely love Santa Teresa.
You can fly to Liberia or San Jose airports in Costa Rica and then catch a 15 minute shuttle flight to Tambor. From there Luxuria is a 40 minute drive. Alternately you can drive from either airport, taking about 4-5 hours all lined with breathtaking scenery.
